Well yesterday was spent looking for a cat to keep me company for the times i spend alone, which is most of the week after trawling the net searching the cat rescue places we found one in Marton Blackpool with several possible candidates, Hector, Margaret and Barbara, not your usual cat names, but when your having to rehome upto a 1,000 cats a year, names are hard to come by, and you know how long it takes to pick a suitable name for a kid, The cats were beautiful and as i expected when i got their, we wanted to take them all home, but alas, it could only be one, i've always had a passion for long haired cats, and i do like single colours, grey, black etc and their was one their that met those criteria, but i didn't pick her, i know i'm still in shock myself,  we spent a good hour with the cats seeing which would take to us, and it made t doubley hard as all except one, kept coming for a stroke, purring, and nudging us as cats will, Barbara was a little shy,she kept herself to herself, though would let you stroke her but wouldn't get out of her bed, sounds like me on a good day lol. Margaret her sister was totally the opposite, she was all over us like the plague, we couldn't push her away, and it was a shame to leave her behind, but i thought, it would have been more of a shame if we had took her away from her sister, Their was a cat their with six toes, he was well cute, but wasn't fully litter trained he liked weeing on lino  though would do his other business in the litter tray, some cats just have some weird quirks about them, their was however one cat that stood head and shoulders above the rest, quite literally, he was huge, a small siberian tiger if you ask me, except his temparement you couldn' fault, his name was Hector, he came when you looked at him and patted your leg, he loved being stroked and was the father of the other cats though only about 4 years old, poor thing, can't have any more kittens though, as he has been neutered  being a big man myself with the same kind of temperament, but no, i haven't been neutered  i think we were meant to be, so even though we spent another half hour looking at the other cats i had already made my mind up that he was the one and from his reactions i think he knew it to, after filling out the paper work the chap took the cat basket we had took and asked us to wait outside whilehe said goodbye to him and put him in so we watched through the window, and Hector casually got up from his bed, came oer to the window were we was looking through had a good look at us, stretched, and walked back to the man for a final stroking, and casually with an air of grace, maybe even royaly walked into the cat basket without any to do. He didn't like the ride home to much, though i guess not many cats do like travelling, but he didn't fret to much, just a few meows and Keekee comforted him while i drove, he was content, when we got home, he warily got out of the basket and looked round, went behind the tv, and watched for a while, to see if their was anysurprises in store for him, like another cat, or a dog, but none appeared, so he went slowly for a little walk round, watching anything that moved, he then hid behind the couch for quite some time and had to be enticed out with a saucer of tuna which we left him to eat while we went to pick Antz up, my youngest son, and go and get a few tins of cat food and some cat litter, when we had come back the tuna had gone, and he was under the shelving unit watching us as we came in, Antz enticed him out with stroking him then he came round all 3 of us for a stroke and then went back into hiding , we left all the doors open so he could go explore the rest of the house, which he did eventually, finding his way under my bed, on Antz's bed in the bath, when it was time for us to go to sleep he was sprawled out n Antz's bed so Anthony jut climed in, and the cat stayed with him most of the night, hemust have had another exploration during the night, most of the water had been drunk, his litter tray had been used, and again he was in hiding, though i didn't find him till after i ad come back from taking Anthony to school, he was in my junk cupboard hiding between some boxes, i've put some more food out for him, but at the moment he's back under my bed, stretched out as cats do when their content, not bad for his first stay in a new home, i'll give him a few days to let him get used to the house then i'll close a few doors so he knows he's not allowed in certain places and hopefully he will come out of his shell a little more, once he comes out from hiding in places that have to much junk, i'll take some pics and put them on here to you can all have a look at what i think will be the new master of the house, till then Adios.  for those who can't wait to see him, then take a peek at him on their website http://www.catchat.org/furrytails/cgibin/prview.cgi?id=2007040305 or if your looking for a cat yourself try this link Furrytails

Ok just a short one, seems i'm better at them, you will probably have noticed a small absence the reason being changing of isp's i don't have much luck with these ppl i was supposed to be connected on the 2nd of feb originally then given several other dates, because they kept sending the wrong engineer out to pull a cable down the st, so i made an official complaint last week and it was done and dusted yesterday so i am back online, now i'm going to see if i can get them to waive the connection fee... doubtful but you never know, another reason for my absence was having major chest surgery again at blackpool victoria, and boy do i have a story about them, but you will have to wait till later to hear it. So its back to business if you have a computer problem you can either use the email link on the top left or leave a comment and make sure your space is public so i can pop by and see what the problem is.Any way thats it for now, off to convert some avi files to dvd format hopefully i've still got the touch once i find the programs again.

 

i know some people don't have msn installed either because they have to log in at work or publick access points like the library etc. so if you sign up to http://www.live.com/ and creat a nick with any email, or at the same time create an hotmail account, you will be able to talk to me on msn by returning to this page and clicking the little green man icon next to my picture in my profile. however a word of warning i don't suffer fools gladly, and this option should only be used if you need help with your computer or of course your family or friends that can't access windows or msn messenger. If i am online the green man will be lit up, if not it will be greyed out.

Ok its been a while but several personal issues hav kept me from looking at this problem, however i have found a solution that works for me, but in my research into the windows live messenger login issue error code 80048820 extended error code 80048439 suggests their could be several possible resolutions.

 

As each one involves gets more involved with the system i'll start off with th simplest.

 

Resolution 1 involves checking and adjusting your system clock, make sure its set correctly, if you have a recurring problem where the clock always seems to be running slow after adjustment, you will need to change the cmos battery, this should be changed every 2 years.

 

Resolution 2 involves you logging into your router and adjusting your mtu settings, this one was the resolution that worked for me, my mtu was set at 1454 so i lowered it to 1400, this setting is to adjust the size of the packets of information that your computer sends and recieves to servers on the net, if this setting is set close to 1500 try lowering it in increments of 50 though i wouldn't golower than 1300 as this will just fragment the packets of information and slow the connection down as it rebuilds the information being sent and recieved.

 

Resolution 3 is a little long winded but if the above hasn't solved the problem then you may want to try it, this was a response from microsoft.

 

First, please go to http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/ and perform and confirm all Windows Updates have been installed correctly.

Now, we need to see if the conflict is due to a non-compatible software on your computer, please perform a clean boot by following the steps outlined at: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310353/en-us (All risks are defined in this document)

Then please go to http://account.live.com and update your account profile.

Please follow these steps to update this information:
1.    Go to http://account.live.com
2.    Login with your passport account.
3.    Go to Account Information - Change your personal information and make the required changes.
4.    Go to Credentials, Under Help recover your password section, and complete both the actions:
a)    Add or change your alternate e-mail address
b)    Change your question and secret answer

Then, if the issue is still persistent, we need you to please follow these steps to fully uninstall and re-install the Windows Live Messenger (WLM) software from your computer. (Note: these steps cause a complete uninstall and re-install of all components of WLM, it is more thorough than a simple removal and re-installation)  

1. Please delete the Software by following these steps:
A. In the notification area, right-click the Windows Live Messenger icon, and then click Sign Out.
B. Click Start, click Run, type CONTROL APPWIZ.CPL, and then click OK.
C. In the list of currently installed programs, select MSN Messenger, and then click Remove.
D. If you are prompted to confirm that you want to remove the program, click Yes.

2. Now delete the Windows Live Messenger registry keys by performing the following steps:

For information about how to back up, restore, and edit the registry, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

a. Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK
b. Click HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, click SOFTWARE, and then click Microsoft to expand these registry key folders.
c. Click the MSN Messenger folder. Make sure that the MSN Messenger folder is selected.
Note: you can expand the MSN Messenger folder without selecting it. When the MSN Messenger folder is selected, it is highlighted.
d. On the Edit menu, click 'Delete'.
e. Click 'Yes' to confirm that you want to remove this key and all its subkeys.

Then restart the computer.

3. Now, please install the Windows Live Messenger software by following these steps:
A. Download Windows Live Messenger manually:  
 1. Start Microsoft Internet Explorer.
 2. Visit http://get.live.com/messenger/overview.
 3. Click Get it free or Download now.
 4. In the File Download window, click Save to save the installation package to the folder of your choice.  

B. Install Windows Live Messenger:  
 1. Right-click 'Start', and then click 'Explore'.
 2. Locate the Windows Live Messenger Setup file that you saved in step 3. Windows Live Messenger uses "Install_Messenger.exe".
 3. Double-click the Windows Live Messenger Setup file for your operating system.
 4. Follow the steps in the wizard to install Windows Live Messenger.

4. Now delete your ListCache folder which is located at C: \Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\Microsoft\Msn Messenger\1875416316 (Please delete all folders that are numbers and in this area)You can open this folder by manually clicking on each folder in Windows Explorer)

(The ListCache.dat contains personal settings such as the URL your own space, contact list, display picture and the contacts' settings such as mobile settings, space enabling  bit, background name, gleam settings, and contact card information.)

Please confirm if your Display Picture is still included at the main sign-in screen or if the account picture is now the generic MSN buddy icon in the sign-in screen.

If these steps fail, please uninstall the Windows Live Messenger software again and install the MSN Messenger 7.5 version by uninstalling the Windows Live Messenger 8 and then download the MSN Messenger 7.5 located at http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=CA6B2C02-7C1C-4E3A-8D2B-4FCEF7485C14&displaylang=en

If you encounter any difficulties, please include as many details as you can in your reply, it is important for us to know what happened at each stage of the troubleshooting steps.

over the last few days i've been using windows vista rc 1 on a dual boot with windows xp sp2, so i haven't used the xp while i've been tinkering with the new OS but last night i decided i needed to download something, so i switched back over to xp and tried to log into windows live messenger, to no avail, couldn't log in same error code i got last week error code 80048820 extended error code 80048439 yet using windows live messenger on vista, i have no problems logging in so in respect of that, and having tried the solution i've offered before, i have come to the conclusion that it must be a piece of software that is causing the conflict on xp so over the next few days i'll have a look at it and see if i can find a more permanat solution as none of the ones available on the web offer any permanant remedies.

 

I've just spent the last 30 mins trying to log into windows live messenger but i kept getting the error error code 80048820 extended error code 80048439, i searched the internet for a resolution to the problem, but none of them resolved it, however the main theme i came across was the fact it was down to a wireless router, so i logged into my router and restarted it, and immediately logged into windows messenger with no problems, so if your experiencing the same problem, try this first before re-registering all the necessary .dll files.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

well again i've left it a while since i last updated my page, but i have been off colour to say the least and have spent very little time at the computer, in fact, i've been having to take that many pills a day even i've started calling myself the medicine man, and if i thought about dancing, it would be more rattle than shake and roll. though i must be getting better now, i've uploaded and added a couple of new songs that should play if you hang around long enough to listen, and i'm actually trying to sing them as i'm typing, so if my words start to wonder, i guess i'm not quite upto multitasking yet .

I can't believe its been so long since i last put something in here  and why's that i wonder, well its been a busy month, but the main reason why i haven't been around is that i have met someone on another site  and we have even got cyber married  on the 30th of march and since we have met, i've not stopped smiling. I will put a pic of her up when i've done this entry.

So take this as fair warning i maybe getting all soppy again .

 

An update on Lisa's hair .... it turned Blue  so she had to do it again last week end lol she looked the blue rinsed bingo band though it hasn't seemed to slow her flirting down .... i just don't know where she she gets it from ... starts whistling innocently .

 

She wants me to take her to watch iceage 2 on friday, only because Antz is going on saturday with his mum and she doesn't want to be the last to see it .... or to phone him up to tell him what its all about lol.

 

Well i think thats about it for now, i night just nip round to my nieghbours space and nick a rose from her garden and send it to my new love
